What did you learn in this class?
From this course, I learned many topics such as Global English, ESL and EFL learning context, English language in ASEAN context, Classroom learning context, ICT in classroom, etc.
-Global English
I learned about how English is important in many countries. The three circle of English; native speaker, ESL, and EFL.
-ESL and EFL learning context
I learned about what are the differences between ESL and EFL learning context.
-English language in Asian context
I learned about what are the similarities and differences of English language in Asian context
-Classroom learning context
I learned about what are the important factors in classroom such as teacher, students and environment.
-ICT
I learned how to use ICT in classroom and how to make it effective in teaching and learning English.
-CLT
I learned about constrains of CLT and how to apply it in EFL classroom.
-21st century skills
I learned about what are the important skills in 21st century and how to improve students’ critical thinking skill.
-Sociocultural Theory
I learned about what is Sociocultural theory and how ti apply it in classroom.
What did you find easy?
For me, I think ICT is very easy for me to understand and easy to find. It’s a thing that I can see in classroom such as computers, Power Point Presentation, Social media. ICT is easy to use. We alwat use it in daily life. We can study how to use it or how to create activities to use with student.
What did you find difficult?
For me, I think most of topics are very difficult. I think research and article have lots of difficult vocabulary and difficult to understand. Sometimes, I read them, but I can’t understand the story or topic.
How did you solve the problem?
My problem is I’m not good English skill such as vocabulary . I can't translate the text. Sometimes, I ask my friend to explain that topic to me and use dictionary or internet to help me. I must improve my vocabulary and other skill .I must read a lot of books.
What are your attitudes towards the lesson?
This course is difficult for me. But it is very important for me to apply in the future. Sometimes, I feel nervous that I can't understand the text or can’t do the tests, but I will try to improve. I am very happy to learn with Dr. Usa Noytim. The teacher is very kind. Teacher make me feel relax when I study in this class although sometime the topic is very difficult. The teacher can explain when we can’t understand about the topic and give change to us for asking some questions. The teacher is the best role model for me
Today, I had class in the morning. We presented about global English from last
week. We presented in the term of EIL, ESL, EFL, and the role of English in
Thailand that we discussed from last
week. Before start the lesson teacher showed the video about World Englishes of David
Crystal.David Crystal is British linguist. We watch the video and take note from the video. Then, we worked and discussed in groupabout video that we watched. After that we presented the summary from our group to the class.
After, we finished our presentation; teacher summarized the lesson again. Teacher
summarized in many topic such as The role of English, Status of English, The spread of English, Varieties of English.
For me, this course is very interesting course. We have to search and
find many article about English teaching. So, it can make us to be an
autonomous learner and I think the information from this lesson is very
important for me.
